Epidauros Work - in - Progress Forum 2010“EPIDAUROS Work- in-Progress FORUM II” 8 - 11 July 2010 Epidaurus, Greece
Since 2002 graduate students from universities all over Europe have taken part in the Intensive Course on Ancient Drama organised every summer in Epidaurus by the European Network of Research and Documentation of Performances of Ancient Greek Drama in Epidaurus. The success of the first Epidauros Work-in-Progress Forum in 2007 emphasised the need for a regular meeting of the alumni of the summer course. We are, thus, very happy to announce that the Epidauros Work in Progress Forum II will take place in Epidaurus from the 8th to the 11th of July 2010.The main purpose of the Forum is to carry on the dialogue initiated at the summer schools, to encourage the alumni to discuss the progress of their work on ancient drama and to invigorate the activities of the alumni network, in general. Alumni who currently work on a field other than ancient drama or have gone into theatre practice are welcome to participate in the Forum and to present their current interests and projects. You are also encouraged to propose a practical workshop or short performance. The programme of the first Work-in-Progress Forum included extra activities and events open to the public. Peter Stein, Tony Harrison and Vassilis Papavassileiou were keynote speakers. Their talks took place at the archaeological sites of Epidaurus and were part of the Epidaurus Festival. The participants also attended the performance of Cherubini’s Medea at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. The volume of the conference proceedings will be published by Parodos Verlag, Berlin.
